ERPC Mission & Goals
Sustaining continued job and investment growth in pharmaceutical manufacturing represents the greatest workforce development opportunity in eastern North Carolina. ECU and pathway affiliates will create, staff, and equip the “Eastern Region Pharma Center” (ERPC) to address the Golden LEAF Foundation’s Workforce Preparedness and Education priority outcome by increasing the number of highly qualified individuals, both new graduates and incumbent employees. Focus will be on advanced knowledge, key skills and relevant hands-on experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
MISSION
Develop and enhance opportunities for students and incumbent workers to learn in place so they may enter into, and advance within, high-skill, high-pay pharmaceutical industry careers while allowing them to stay in, and contribute to, their home communities – especially those in North Carolina’s rural counties.
GOALS
- Increase the number of highly qualified individuals (students and incumbent employees) with advanced knowledge, key skills and relevant experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Bridge clearly articulated gaps in workforce supply (new AAS and BS graduates and skillset — up-skilling and new-skilling for incumbent workers)
- Deliver education, training and professional development programs to students and incumbent employees “in place.”
- Deliver programs and “hands-on” experiential learning to geographically distributed students (both community college and ECU) and industry incumbent workers.
ACTION PLANS
- Create, staff and host the Pharma Pathways Program (PPP)
- Expand Academic and Experiential Learning Capacity at ECU
- Expand Industry Partner Services
